The opportunity for our people to learn and develop is crucial in terms of developing our services for the older people that we support. The majority of our people are at the front line of service delivery therefore it is essential we provide the appropriate training to develop competence in the skills required to understand the needs of older people, and that our people are empowered to respond to those needs in a professional and confident manner.
You may wish to develop your skills at a particular level of responsibility or role; you could choose to develop the skills necessary for a different post or to place yourself in a position to take advantage of promotional openings when they become available. Our aim is to ensure that our people have a job that is satisfying and opportunities to develop a career if they want to advance their skills.

As we have our own award winning NVQ Centre, one of the first in the sector, we are able to provide NVQ’s which provide the platform for our ‘career framework’ so our people can develop and progress. NVQ awards, accredited by national awarding bodies, can be taken in many areas from health & social care through to catering and hospitality, management and administration, accounting, payroll and business. CLS also has strong links with many training providers, local colleges and universities, which enable us to access further training and qualification opportunities.
