Residents at CLS care home Westy Hall, in Latchford, are celebrating the achievement of Graham Bayley, after he completed the annual 60-mile Manchester to Blackpool bike ride in an impressive 5½ hours, raising almost £100 for their activities and outings fund.
Maintenance officer, Graham, 61, originally from Warrington has worked at Westy Hall for almost a year and delighted staff and residents when he told them he would be raising money for their special activities and events fund.
Graham said: “Taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride was a great experience, made all the more special and enjoyable knowing that I was helping to treat older people I am fond of at Westy Hall.”
Katya Lyon, Home Manager for Westy Hall, said: “We’re so grateful to have such loyal staff and friends, like Graham, who support the home and residents in events such as this. We can’t thank Graham enough, and plan to arrange something extra special for the residents with the money raised.”
As well as supporting Westy Hall residents, Graham was fundraising for his local judo club, and has been selected as a national technical official for the sport at the Olympic Games, London 2012.
